Klamath Area

America’s Wild Rivers Coast ends in the Klamath area and the center of the Redwood National and State Parks. The Klamath area stretches approximately seven miles from Wilson Creek Beach to High Bluff, where Klamath River flows into the Pacific, and inland along the river to Klamath Glen.

There are many lodging choices here in the redwoods: camping, RV parks, B&Bs, motels, and rustic resorts. The largest attraction in the area is Trees of Mystery with its unique forest tour, museum of American Indian artifacts, and a gondola ride. Other attractions in the area are the Tour Thru Tree, Klamath River jet boat rides, and excellent fishing prospects.

Scenic Drives
Milepost 40.8: Coastal Drive/West Klamath Beach Road
Turn here for a scenic loop along the south bank of the Klamath River and up to Flint Ridge for views from High Bluff with picnic area. Return by Alder Camp Road. Not advisable for trailers or motor homes.

44.8: Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway
This 10-mile scenic drive passes through Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, which has hiking trails, Big Tree Wayside, and Elk Meadow day-use and campground.
