Yachats
Known as the Gem of the Oregon Coast, Yachats is a village of about 635 people located at the mouth of the Yachats River and nestled between the mountains and the sea. Long known as a vacation destination, the resort village draws people who appreciate its uniqueness. The landmark Little Log Church was built more than 60 years ago from donated logs and has recently been renovated. The residents of Yachats turn out for their annual La De Da Parade on July Fourth, which is followed by music and food. The annual Smelt Fry in July coincides with the Yachats Music Festival, a popular three-day series of classical music performances. People come from far and near to attend the Original Yachats Arts and Crafts Fair in March, the Village Mushroom Fest in October, the Celtic Music Festival in November, and the Yachats Winter Celebration from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. Wonderful meal planned for Thanksgiving. Better yet for Christmas. You certainly won't want to miss New Years.
