Gold Beach

Named for the gold that was found near here in the mid-1800s, Gold Beach is located where the Rogue River meets the sea. Year-round fishing, jet boat trips, and other outdoor activities for the entire family make Gold Beach a vacation paradise. Upriver about 10 miles is the Schrader Old Growth Trail and a trail to the largest myrtlewood tree on the coast. The Rogue River Museum, dedicated to the world-famous river, is in town at the jet boat dock.

You can drive inland as far as Agness on paved roads. The Event Center at the Beach is the location for many events during the year including the Curry County Fair, which is held in July.
